Take a peek at the new dinner menu for the hottest Jewish bakery/bistro that New York has ever seen.

Major Food Group's Eastern European bakery/bistro/house of wax opened for dinner about a week ago with heaps of caviar, rivers of infused vodka, and enough trout roe to fill a geodesic dome. Early word indicates that the fried chicken, though not keeping with the Euro theme, is one of the standouts, along with the raw scallops with potato chips. Early diners also seem to dig the black truffle pull-apart bread that starts the meal. The Major Food Group just released a digital copy of the menu. Check it out below (sans prices), and if you happen to stop by this weekend, let us know what you think.

Actual flames.

Sadelle's, the wildly popular Soho Jewish bakery/bistro from Major Food Group, launched dinner last week with a menu that includes caviar, veal pelemni, Roumanian steak, and fried chicken. For the start of dinner service, the Torrisi Squad also purchased a lot of white candles. At night, these are the primary sources of illumination in the dining room, and they also add a certain element of danger to the proceedings. Via the tipline, a reader named Mike shares his experience:

I went there Friday night food was decent, potato chip raw scallop was a fun dish. BUT the moment of the night was when our waiter's polyester jacket caught on fire because of all those damn candles. I know it sounds like a joke but it honestly happened seemed surreal. They put out the fire quickly and the dude was ok/ resumed being our waiter but there is no way that place doesn't have at least one fire related incident a month.

If you have any noteworthy experiences like this at Sadelle's or any other restaurant throughout the city, please let us know — the tipline is always open.

The caviar flows like water rushing down a Rocky Mountain stream.

Major Food Group is now serving dinner at the winterized garden of earthly delights known as Sadelle's. Service began last night, actually. The restaurant has a full buy-out this evening, so the dining room has absolutely no availability for walk-ins or reservations. But dinner will resume, business as usual, tomorrow night.

To prepare for the dinner launch, the Torrisi Boys and Girls purchased every white candle on the eastern seaboard. Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi, and Melissa Weller also created a slew of new dishes, many of which draw inspiration from Eastern Europe. The menu includes veal pelmeni, double-baked potatoes with caviar, Roumanian steak, chicken paprika, and caviar with pancakes and other accouterments. Sadelle's is also serving some dishes that don't follow the Eastern European theme, like fried chicken, a patty melt, and pigs in a blanket. The drinks list from cocktail masetro Thomas Waugh has a number of infused vodkas.

The Major Food team did many, many friends and family dinners in preparation for this week's launch and photos of some of the dishes have already popped up on Instagram.
This is how the restaurant will look when dinner service begins.

Here is a sneak peek at Sadelle's as it will look next week when the Torrisi Boys and Girls launch dinner service at the Soho restaurant. After dark the bright, sun splashed space transforms in to a warm, glittering dining room illuminated by the flickering glow of dozens of candles. The deli counter will convert into a bar that will be stocked with liquor and caviar, and rock 'n' roll will replace the pop standards that play during the day. Look for the menu dropping next week and check out the room in the slideshow above.

For the time being Sadelle's counter will be open for breakfast and lunch only. The seated bistro section with a full menu from Weller, Rich Torrisi, and Mario Carbone is expected to open in the coming days. Take a look around the space in the slideshow above.

An everything bagel bomb went off in Soho today.

Sadelle's — the most anticipated restaurant of fall 2015 — opened its bakery/appetizing counter today at 8 a.m. A steady steam of reports from readers has flowed into the Eater tipline ever since news first broke about the opening this morning. The shop is closed for the evening right now, with service resuming again tomorrow, but here are seven facts about the Major Food Group's newest:

1) Counter employees are wearing clean, crisp white coats and paper caps, with blue shirts and pink ties underneath. This is arguably a fiercer look than what the servers at Santina are rocking (pastel polos), but maybe not as cool as the Zac Posen tuxes at Carbone. One Racked editor says they look like "World War II doctors," while another fashion critic quips that they resemble "scientists playing a game with hats on."

2) The Major Food all-stars were out in full effect on day one. Reader Mike notes: "All the Torrisi boys were there overseeing things and the seating area was closed off, with just some photographers and friends & family occupying a few tables."

3) The bagels are already flying off the shelves. Reader Bradley writes in:

Melissa Weller's bagels are strong AF. Opening day kinks made the wait pretty long; they were running out of bagels when I got there due to oven issues. But it was well worth it in the end. I ended up getting a salt & pepper bagel. Nice crunch on the shell / soft inside.

4) According to a menu posted on Yelp, the bistro in the back will offer seven salads — including Greek, lobster, and Cobb varieties — plus entrees like roasted chicken, Swedish meatballs, and grilled shrimp with coconut rice. Also: a full breakfast menu will be available in the morning, plus four types of triple decker sandwiches in the afternoon.

5) New York's favorite restaurant-obsessed celebrity has already visited Sadelle's. A reader explains: "When I was waiting for my order, I spotted Aziz Ansari walk in."

6) It looks like the dining room has seating on at least three levels. The ground floor includes a monster marble table with seating for....15 people? 20 people? 25 people??! Lots of people.

7) The chocolate babka is already earning raves from diners, including food blogger/photographer extraordinaire Adam Goldberg:
