New York has an overabundance of historic restaurants. It's something to be appreciated and supported, and certainly examined, as Brooks of Sheffield does in Eater's Who Goes There? These are only a fragment of the gems that have ingrained themselves in the gastronomic landscape of the city, but they offer some insight into the dishes and cuisines that helped shape the present scene. Diners should be evermore grateful for these members of the old guard, as they increasingly succumb to this wild beast of an industry.
