Demi Monde was, in the words of a worker at the building, "obliterated." It is unclear whether the bar will reopen.

Merchants NY Cafe on Washington Street in the Financial District remains closed. The message on the answering machine: “Due to super storm Sandy, we are currently closed and will be undergoing necessary repairs. We are working hard to reopen the restaurant, but at this time we do not have a reopening date.”

Nelson Blue reportedly took on about seven feet of water. It is still closed. Still closed. The note on the website: "Please be advised due to Hurricane Sandy, Nelson Blue will be closed till further notice . We are working diligently to get up and running as soon as possible and hope to have those great NZ lamb chops and green lipped mussels available to you again."

The dining room is still closed, but this sushi restaurant is now open for delivery and take-out seven nights a week.

Salud suffered 15 feet of flooding, from the basement to the main dining room. Puglia by the Sea was badly damaged in the storm. The owners plan to rebuild, but for now the restaurant is closed.

Located on Father Capodanno Boulevard in Midland Beach, John Toto's restaurant sustained significant flooding and structural damage, which Toto believes will not be covered by his insurance. The restaurant's number has been disconnected.
