Bobby Flay, Mesa Grill and Bar Americain: “My favorite burger in the city is from J.G. Melon on 74th and 3rd Avenue. Nothing fancy—just a simple burger with American cheese cooked on the griddle. I grew up eating this burger, and it actually inspired me to cook my burgers on the griddle. The patty gets a great crust on it that way.”

Gabe Thompson, L'Artusi, Dell'Anima, L'Apicio: "The burger at the Spotted Pig is awesome! Only three great ingredients: bun, meat and Roquefort. The shoestring fries with garlic and rosemary are addictive. I always ask for mustard (mayo is not an option there). Always perfectly seasoned and cooked!"

Michael Berardino, Angolo Soho: "The Spotted Pig is my go-to. Because of my work schedule and how late the restaurant is open, it's very convenient. I would get the chargrilled burger with Roquefort cheese after work when I was nearby working at dell'anima, and now it's still my favorite burger to grab after work at Angolo SoHo."

Thistle Hill Tavern, and Pork Slope: “It’s gotta be Minetta Tavern’s Black Label Burger. Seriously, believe the hype. It’s like eating a steak between two buns. For a burger I’d eat everyday though, it’d hands down be Shake Shack’s Double Shackburger. So damn good.”

Ben Daitz, Num Pang: "I know it's typical but the Minetta Burger is my absolute favorite — the quality of meat is insane and it is served at a perfect medium rare with caramelized onions. The ratio of beef to onion to bun is just right and so delicious."
