Quality Branded, behind Bad Roman, the year’s “most unhinged” Italian restaurant, is opening a new venture at the Time Warner Center. Set to open fall 2024, the new restaurant will also be located at 10 Columbus Circle, the same mall that houses Bad Roman, the Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant Per Se, and David Chang’s Bāng Bar. The Quality Branded group has made several moves over the past year, including closing its steakhouse chain Quality Eats, and the announcement of an offshoot of Don Angie, to come this winter.
Ernesto’s is opening a wine bar
Ernie’s is set to open soon at 10 Montgomery Street, near East Broadway. The new wine bar neighbors and comes from the same team as Basque restaurant Ernesto’s. The menu will be an abbreviated pintxo menu; there are several toasts such as one with anchovy and black olive tapenade toast; seared foie with warm apple; and grilled steak with leeks.
Nura names a new chef
Following executive chef Jackie Carnesi’s departure from Nura to pursue relaunching Kellogg’s Diner as a Tex-Mex spot, the Greenpoint restaurant has named a new chef. Carnesi’s former sous chef, Tajeh Porter, has taken over the Nura kitchen.

Jack Giambanco, an artist making 3D replicas of New York restaurants, like Roll N Roaster and Defonte’s, was included in the 2023 Eater NY holiday gift guide. Saturday, December 2 is the last chance to check out a showcase that includes Giambanco and other miniature artists’ work at the Brooklyn Historical Society. More details are in the flier.
