Jerk chicken destination Peppa’s may be expanding to the Lower East Side
Acclaimed Brooklyn jerk chicken hotspot Peppa’s is looking to expand into Manhattan, Bowery Boogie reports. The restaurant submitted an application to a local community board for a full liquor license at 90-96 Stanton Street, between Ludlow and Orchard streets, on the Lower East Side. The location is formerly home to short-lived Mediterranean fast casual spot Falafix.
The proposed move would be the first expansion outside of Brooklyn for the crowd-favorite restaurant, which has built a solid reputation citywide for its outstanding rendition of jerk chicken. Owner Gavin Hussey, alongside his family, has grown Peppa’s to include multiple locations across Brooklyn, including a new East Flatbush shop that opened last month.
Eater has reached out to Peppa’s for more information on the possible expansion.
