Freewheeling seasonal Williamsburg Airstream truck Mister Dips is making its popular burgers and soft serves available all-year. This spring, NoHo Hospitality will open a 30-seat restaurant at South Street Seaport at 89 South Street — offering the griddle burgers, waffle fries, and new menu items.

Mister Dips opened in 2016 at the William Vale Hotel’s small, elevated park, leaning into the 1970s with a psychedelic logo and colorful, over-the-top soft serve cones dipped into magic shell sauces. It’s the most casual and affordable restaurant from the NoHo team of Luke Ostrom, Josh Pickard, and chef Andrew Carmellini, who also run the Dutch, Lafayette, and Bar Primi. But because it’s at a park, it’s only been open during the summer, where it becomes mobbed with locals seeking burgers and ice cream.

This new Seaport outpost will be one of two new permanent locations for the burger shop; Carmellini et al are also opening a location in Detroit. With whimsical branding and a tight, simple menu, Mister Dips looks poised to become a chain for NoHo.

Both locations are slated to open this spring.

Stay tuned for more.
