The Four Seasons space may soon have a new tenant

A high-end Brazilian hotel company is reportedly eyeing the Four Seasons Restaurant space. The Post’s Steve Cuozzo is doing a little rumermongering, reporting that “interest is running high” in the space, and that Fasano Hotel company has emerged as a front-runner. Fasano has luxury hotels and restaurants in São Paolo and Rio de Janeiro, and its interest reportedly stems from the company’s love for Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld, who designed the Four Seasons and multiple Fasano properties. Nothing has been signed just yet, though.

The Four Seasons Restaurant closed in Midtown East in June after a short and troubled 10-month revival. After a $40 million rebuild, the iconic and problematic restaurant faced criticism for still involving former partner Julian Niccolini, who pleaded guilty to sexual assault in 2016. Even though Niccolini eventually resigned, the restaurant still faced issues with what owners claim were design flaws — apparently from Weinfeld himself.
