Taqueria hit Los Tacos No. 1 is making its way to Grand Central. The casual, counter-service restaurant plans to open a new outpost at 125 Park Ave., near East 42nd Street, this fall — with the same menu that it offers at Times Square.
It will be the fourth location for the taco shop, which Tyler Sanders, Kyle Cameron, and Christian Pineda opened in 2013 at Chelsea Market. A third in Tribeca has not yet opened. Cameron says that construction will start soon on the newest outpost and should finish by October. Expect the same ultra-thin flour or corn tortillas, as well as fillings such as adobada, carne asada, and pollo asado that come with onions, cilantro, salsa, and guacamole.
Los Tacos is often considered one of the top taco shops in the city, frequently generating lines at its Chelsea Market original and regularly packed at its Times Square one. It has a spot on the Eater 38 for robust, filling yet simple tacos.
Though popular, Los Tacos is set up for speed. This new shop will likely be a prime spot for commuters and other travelers near the train station.
