LaGuardia’s multi-billion dollar redevelopment will include several new restaurants in the Delta terminal this fall — including a pizzeria juiced up with advice from the pizza icon behind Lucali.
Airport restaurant operator OTG is behind the restaurants at the new Delta section of Terminal C, the first of four that will be opening in October. As with many of OTG’s airport restaurants, the company has hired several big-name New York City restaurateurs to consult on the openings of the project.
Rossi Pizzeria will serve Neapolitan-style pizza and calzones, created on the advice of Mark Iacono, the chef behind the legendary thin-crust pies at Carroll Gardens restaurant Lucali. Then Flatiron Tavern & Provisions will serve a straightforward American menu with options such as burgers and fish. To help with that menu, OTG brought on Jess Shadbolt and Clare de Boer, the chefs behind charming Soho restaurant King.
Popular bagel spot H&H Bagels, cafe Birch Coffee, and Juice Press will all be part of the concourse. And like with the OTG outfits in Newark, the full-service restaurants here will feature tablet ordering.
LaGuardia — long the ugly step-sibling of the New York area’s airports — has been undergoing a major reconstruction to modernize, a project funded by both private companies like Delta and the state. Last year, Terminal B unveiled its new digs, where a Shake Shack and an Italian restaurant from Scott Conant are now available.
