Chef Greg Baxtrom is throwing a massive barbecue later this month to benefit abortion access in Alabama at his Prospect Heights restaurants Olmsted and Maison Yaki, pulling in other big-name restaurants such as MeMe’s Diner, Momofuku Nishi, Chez Ma Tante, and Claro for the evening.

The Monday, June 24 party is a night of unlimited food and drink, starting with savory dishes at Olmsted and then moving into dessert at Maison Yaki. There will be fried chicken and shortcake from Olmsted, cornbread from MeMe’s, potato salad with squid from Gem chef Flynn McGarry, La Newyorkina paletas, Ramona wine spritzers, Daly pie, wine from Food & Wine’s cellar, beer from Brooklyn Brewery, and a whole lot more. The lineup and menu, which is still being finalized, is below.

If the event sells out, $30,000 will be donated to The Yellowhammer Fund, a non-profit that provides funding for anyone trying to get an abortion in Alabama. Ticket sales are directly through non-profit donation tool ActBlue, meaning everyone participating in the event is fully donating their product and time. Each ticket costs $100, and there are two seatings.

The event is reminiscent of pastry chef Natasha Pickowicz’s Planned Parenthood bake sale at Cafe Altro Paradiso. In its third year this spring, that fundraiser raised close to $100,000. Baxtrom is throwing this event with his business partner Max Katzenberg.

Tickets to the Olmsted and Maison Yaki event are available here.
