John F. Kennedy Airport’s new TWA Hotel — the absolutely bonkers revival of the long-dormant terminal including a museum, hotel, and several bars — has just upped its food game with the addition of a food hall home to New York City favorites like the Halal Guys.

The food hall will be located within the terminal’s “Departures Hall,” the place where Trans World Airlines travelers used to check in for flights. It’s a quicker, more affordable dining option within the massive hotel project, whose previously announced restaurants include a fancy-leaning cafe from fine dining chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, plus a lounge and rooftop pool bar by the Gerber Group, which runs sceney Manhattan bars Mr. Purple and Taco Electrico.

Aside from the Halal Guys’ beloved steaming platters of gyro and chicken over rice, stalls will also come from and Empanada Republic, Earl of Sandwich, Fresh&Co, and Playa Bowls. It’s a fairly local bunch — salad chain Fresh&Co was born and bred in New York, and healthy smoothie bowl Playa Bowls hails from New Jersey. Empanada Republic hails from Brooklyn. The point is to offer the “essential New York City food bucket list all in one spot,” says Tyler Morse, CEO of MCR/MORSE Development, the developer behind the project.

The food hall will be operated by Fooda, a company that does lunch pop-ups and provides meal services for professional offices like the JetBlue headquarters in Long Island City. Diners can check out daily menus of each stall on Fooda’s mobile app.

The new TWA terminal is expected to open May 15 with a slew of crazy amenities, all of which will be open to public as well as travelers. They’ll include Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s restaurant; a rooftop pool bar and observation deck overlooking a runway; a vintage airplane-turned-bar; a museum; coffee bar; and 512 hotel rooms.

In total, six new restaurants and eight bars are expected, though not all of have been announced yet.

Correction, May 15, 2019, 12:26 p.m.: The food hall will have a stall from Empanada Republic, a Brooklyn-based Latin American restaurant.
