Sugarfish — the popular Los Angeles sushi import known for long waits — has expanded to Soho.
Now open at 202 Spring St., at Sullivan Street, the Soho location quietly opened in mid February with the same menu as the Flatiron location. There is a la carte sushi and rolls, but what Sugarfish is known for is its affordable-by-comparison “trust me” sets. At $28, $40, and $52 — up a dollar each since 2016 — the sets come with varying amounts of sushi and sashimi.
The Soho space is 1,700-square-feet with 42 seats, the same number as in Flatiron. Sugarfish has been driving sushi lovers wild since 2008. It now has 11 locations around Los Angeles, and expanded to New York City in Flatiron in 2016. It’s been packed ever since it debuted, often commanding three-hour waits — despite tepid reviews.
Sugarfish Soho is open Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from noon to 11 p.m.
