Ridiculously popular Soho slice shop Prince Street Pizza — whose feud with a new UWS pizzeria recently made headlines — is expanding with a second NYC location.
Prince Street announced the news on Instagram earlier today, and a spokesperson for owner Frank Morano confirmed the second store will be in NYC, though he wouldn’t say where.
The counter-service shop opened in 2012 and has since drawn long lines of pizza-lovers for a slice, especially the Spicy Spring — a crowd favorite made with a spicy, garlic-spiked sauce and tiny, curled pepperonis. That particular slice has spurred a highly publicized rivalry between Prince Street and Made In New York Pizza, a new restaurant that recently opened on the UWS serving a similar version of the slice.
Eater critic Ryan Sutton recently visited both establishments. His verdict: The original at Prince Street is better.
