Los Tacos No. 1 has come a long way since its humble food hall stand beginnings: The popular taqueria will add a third NYC location by the end of the year at 136 Church St. at Warren Street in Tribeca, Commercial Observer reports.

The restaurant from Tyler Sanders, Kyle Cameron, and Christian Pineda started as a small stand in Chelsea Market in 2013, serving four kinds of simple street tacos that come on corn tortillas or standout ultra-thin flour tortillas. It was a quick hit, landing on Eater NY’s list of 38 essential NYC restaurants, where it still remains.

This will be the second full-fledged location after debuting in the former New York Times building in Times Square in 2017. The menu there was the same as at the stand: carne asada, pollo asado, adobada, and nopal tacos as well as quesadillas, chips and guacamole, and drinks like agua frescas and Mexican sodas.

The new Tribeca Los Tacos No. 1 will occupy a 1,350 square-foot space, just slightly smaller than the Times Square location, where there are just counters and no seats. An official opening date has not been set. Eater has reached out to the team for more info.
