Woman killed in Brooklyn deli stabbing

Following a fight at Hotel RL by Red Lion on the Bushwick-Bed Stuy border, two women reportedly rushed into a nearby corner deli and only one came out alive. Ebony Young, 20, was fatally stabbed to death around 3:50 p.m. on Monday, police say. A store clerk called 911, but Young did not survive. Police are still looking for the killer.

Hill Country and Dinosaur alum branches out on his own

Over on the Lower East Side, a Hill Country Barbecue and Dinosaur Bar-B-Que alum is opening Randall’s Barbecue at 359 Grand St. The menu will have brisket, spare ribs, bacon, and smoked duck, plus collaborations with local brands such as the Pickle Guys and the Doughnut Plant. Chef-owner Jared Male expects to open this spring.

Two openings and a coming attraction

Now open on the Upper East Side at 1269 Lexington Ave. is a new location of coffee shop Variety Coffee. Coming soon to the East Village at 77 Second Ave. is Hot Box, a noodle soup restaurant. And in the Financial District, Andaz Wall Street has opened Andaz Kitchen & Bar, an eclectic restaurant with Italian, Caribbean, Asian, and American dishes.

Nightlife mayor off to a chatty start

At her first meeting with the public, NYC’s new nightlife mayor Ariel Palitz certainly heard what business owners want. More than 100 business owners showed up to request things like rent control, transparency in regulations, and more. “We have a lot of talking to do,” Palitz reportedly said.
