It’s now (slightly) easier to try one of the unconventional pitas from Miznon, the fast-casual pita restaurant from Israeli celebrity chef Eyal Shani. The Chelsea Market spot — where people have been waiting more than an hour to get pitas — now has limited dinner hours, with a 9 p.m. closing time from Wednesday through Saturday.
It previously announced dinnertime earlier, but nighttime hours were delayed and primarily folks near Chelsea Market at lunch or willing to brave it on the weekend could sample it. (Despite the limitations, it was still mad crowded.) Though hours are extended, Miznon will still only be available during the day on Monday and Sunday with a 5 p.m. closing time.
The NYC outpost of the global chain opened at the end of January introducing a local version of the menu, with new pitas such as ones filled with avocado and egg, lobster, and Caesar salad. It’s been packed from the beginning. Early stand-outs include a pita called “folded cheeseburger,” which is filled with a ground beef burger patty, and a ratatouille pita.
Even more extended hours may come later. Stay tuned.
