After an argument between co-workers at Pinole in East Harlem, a disgruntled employee threw a Molotov cocktail into the Mexican restaurant.
The argument took place around 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Mexican restaurant located on East 115th St. near Third Avenue, the Daily News reports. An hour and 45 minutes later, the aggrieved employee returned to the premises with a glass bottle full of lighter fluid and threw it into the building. A small fire started, but first responders put it out within a few minutes and no one was injured.
Molotov cocktails are makeshift bombs made from glass bottles, flammable liquid, and a cloth used as a wick. In December, a masked motorcyclist threw two Molotov cocktails into a Brighton Beach supermarket. No injuries were reported in that incident either.
Police were searching for the Pinole suspect on Thursday. Eater has reached out to the restaurant for more information.
