Which chef really killed it with sweets in 2018?

It’s the final day of the 2018 edition of the Eater Awards, the ninth annual year that Eater honors the most talented restaurants, chefs, and other hospitality world experts in cities around the world. As a closing, Eater New York is highlighting the Best Dessert in the city.

All 24 Eater cities grant prizes in different categories, including Restaurant of the Year, Chef of the Year, and Design of the Year. The final two awards are chosen by cities based on the dining scene — and in New York, some simply fantastic sweets have graced the town.

Both an editor’s choice winner and a reader’s choice winner will be selected in each category, and both will be announced on Wednesday, December 5th.

Nominees include Zoe Kanan at all-day cafe Studio, where moist, almond-based Persian love cake and luscious chocolate babka shine; Marie-Aude Rose of luxe daytime French cafe La Mercerie, for options like the aromatically indulgent orange flower water-scented brioche; Fabian von Hauske Valtierra, for his simple yet electric dessert like panna cotta and tiramisu at Una Pizza Napoletana; Jason Pfeifer at the sky-high FiDi restaurant Manhatta, whose desserts like date cake stood out; and Lindsey Bittner, the pastry chef at Leonelli Taberna, who had a slew of well-executed Italian-ish desserts this year.

Vote in the poll below; it closes in 24 hours.
