Which chef had an absolutely killer 2018?

It’s day two of the 2018 edition of the Eater Awards, the ninth annual year that Eater honors the most talented restaurants, chefs, and other hospitality world experts in cities around the world. Today, Eater is looking at Chef of the Year — an award where readers can vote on who really shined in the NYC dining scene this year.

All 24 Eater cities grant prizes in different categories, including Restaurant of the Year, Chef of the Year, and Design of the Year. Both an editor’s choice winner and a reader’s choice winner will be selected in each category, and both will be announced on Wednesday, December 5th.

Nominated chefs include Richard Ho, the chef and proprietor of the tiny but mighty Taiwanese noodle shop Ho Foods; chef Chintan Pandya for his inventive fare at West Village restaurant Rahi and homier stuff at newer LIC restaurant Adda; Marie-Aude Rose for her beautiful French fare at La Mercerie. The thrilling Vietnamese food at Di An Di brings Dennis Ngo to the list as well, and Kyo Pang of Malaysian cafe Kopitiam lands a spot, too, for a reboot that’s proven to be even more popular and robust than the original.

The poll closes in 24 hours; cast your vote now:
