Conveyor belt pizza
Hot on the heels of its Nomad opening, D.C.-based pizza chain &pizza adds a second NYC location in Noho at 740 Broadway. It’s the 23rd location overall of this slickly branded pizzeria that offers unlimited toppings on pizzas cooked in conveyor belt ovens. Tuesday, October 3 is when this locations opens.
A wine bar expansion tear
Go-to wine bar Bar Veloce is on a hot expansion streak, adding new locations in Hell’s Kitchen at 862 Ninth Avenue, DNAinfo reports, as well as one in the West Village in Recette’s former space at 328 West 12th Street, according to Community Board 2 meeting notes. There are already four other locations in NYC in Chelsea, the East Village, Greenwich Village, and JFK airport of the standard wine bar with small plates.
A restaurant in a furniture store in a food hall
Chelsea Market furniture store Black Barn will soon also have a restaurant aspect from chef John Doherty, who runs Black Barn in Flatiron. Everything in the “farm-like, very rustic” space will be for sale, such as glasses and the plates. The menu will be similar to the one at Black Barn, which serves farm-to-table American fare such as pork shank and truffle parmesan gnocchi. It will open later this fall.
A female-focused French spot
On the Lower East Side, Brazilian-French restaurant Brigitte looks closer to opening. Kang Ho Dong Baekjong investor Ciao Maggi is behind this one, which from its Instagram, looks very focused on the female body.
