An owner of The Surf Lodge — Montauk’s longtime party spot with a legion of loyal fans — is opening a Manhattan outpost called The Mailroom (110 Wall Street), with LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy as tonight’s DJ.

A Surf Lodge owner Jayma Cardoso — a partner in clubstaurant Lavo, and an owner of the now-closed Cain — has teamed up with creative director Robert McKinley to open The Mailroom before it goes full throttle for Fashion Week that starts September 7.

The Surf Lodge remains open despite conflicts with Montauk residents over the past few years, having earned more than 900 various violations since it opened in 2008. More recently, last summer, Surf Lodge owners agreed to end two-hour live shows by 8 p.m. and to limit capacity from 450 to 395 to cut down on complaints .

The Mailroom is a location for We Work, which snagged a liquor license along with the event space/bar awhile back. Stay tuned for updates.
