Local Leaf Opens in Kips Bay With Lettuce Wraps for the Masses

The restaurant betting on lettuce wraps as the next big fast-casual hit is now open to all who want to dine mostly on greens.

Local Leaf, located at 440 Third Avenue between 30th and 31st Streets, started serving its lettuce wraps, lettuce cups, and salads on Monday.

The restaurant — which declares lettuce “not just a meal, it’s a lifestyle” — offers base options with that can be customized with different grains and toppings, such as rice, steamed broccoli, and beef short rib. Each one costs $8.95, with meats and seafood costing extra.

It also cheesily named its beverage menu the “hydration bar,” a place where people can order juices, kombucha, and smoothies, including one with cold brew, coffee, cacao, and banana.

Like other competitors in the healthy fast-casual space, Local Leaf tries to source its ingredients from the area — calling itself “farm-to-hand.” Take a look at the full menu below.
