It’s location number four for Joe’s Pizza, arguably New York’s most popular slice, which has headed uptown to Times Square. The beloved slice shop is now open at 1435 Broadway, in addition to locations in Williamsburg, the East Village, and the original in Greenwich Village.

The family-owned pizzeria — of which there are many knockoffs — opened in 1975 and only expanded for the first time in 2013, opening an outpost on East 14th Street. Two years later, a Williamsburg location followed, and now, after another two years, Times Square is the spot. This new location is certainly spiffier than the original, with white subway tiling and exposed brick.
There’s never been a better time for a tourist to eat in Times Square, as the crowded nexus has been the recipient of solid New York restaurants as of late. Popular taqueria Los Tacos No. 1 quietly debuted at 229 West 43 Street in July, and the Breads Bakery-backed pizza stand Rock Paper Scissors in June.
