With practically every restaurant debuting these days with Instagrammable neon signs and extra-saturated, ultra-photogenic food, Fort Greene’s new Hudson Jane goes against the grain for its lack of gimmicks.

This all-day cafe from partners Jen LaPorta and chef Megan Johnson (Gramercy Tavern, Casellula) is just an old-fashioned restaurant with breakfast through dinner, plus a grab-and-go retail section. Johnson’s menu starts the day with breakfast sandwiches, burritos, and pastries before moving on to salads and sandwiches for lunch, and ending the day with an eclectic menu with ceviche, a patty melt, and chicken liver paté. The menu is in full below, with gratuity-included pricing.

At night, the owners intend for the white oak and marble space to transition into a wine bar. Consulting sommelier Sarah Sutel Looper (Wine & Spirits magazine’s tasting director) put together a list of all-natural Old and New World wines. Sherry cocktails and beer also make appearances.

Hudson Jane is now open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 7 pm. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
