Burger & Lobster sure does know its audience, as evidenced by a new massive Times Square location to feed burgers and lobster to the hungry tourist hordes. This is the second spot for the London-based chain, which offers a similar menu — in full below — as the Flatiron original of burgers, lobster, lobster rolls, or combos with fries starting at just $16.
It’s a smart move for the chain, which has parked itself inside the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, going full-theme with 300 lobster traps lining the entrance and Broadway-themed quotes on the walls. One in neon by playwright Samuel Beckett reads, “We are all born mad. Some remain so.” With a primo location near both Broadway theaters and the Times Square nexus, it makes sense this location went big with 100 seats in the dining room and another 40 at the long bar.
Despite a seemingly ridiculous concept, New Yorkers have embraced the chain. Eater “Meat Show” host Nick Solares calls the burger “cracking good.” The Times Square location is now open at 132 West 43rd Street. Take a look around above, and at some of the food below.
