Argument in Queens restaurant ends in death
An argument early Thursday morning at Cookie’s Lounge in Ozone Park, Queens has left one dead. Bartender John Savillo argued with a customer, who fatally stabbed him twice in the abdomen and once in the chest, the Daily News reports. The suspect is still at large.
A major pizza party
ZOMG, America’s master of pizza is cooking at Sessanta (60 Thompson Street) for one night only. Pizzaiolo Chris Bianco will grace New York with his presence on Wednesday, July 26, cooking a three-course menu with wine pairings for $150. Reservations here.
The early word on EMP Summer House
The reviews are coming in for EMP Summer House, that camp-like summer excursion up to the Hamptons from the Eleven Madison Park team. Steve Cuozzo practically wrote an ad for it in yesterday’s Post, and Newsday’s Pervaiz Shallwani notes that it’s particularly well-suited for families and children. Sounds idyllic, which is probably exactly what the EMP team wants.

Six months after Eater’s Robert Sietsema did the same, the Times’ Ligaya Mishan compared the phos at Hanoi House and Madame Vo. Sounds like she’s a fan, writing of Hanoi House: “It’s deceptively crystalline, belying its lushness, and almost indolent in how it clings to the tongue.”
