City Acres will open June 19 at 70 Pine Street with a food hall and grocerant — including vendors Artichoke Pizza, Vanessa’s Dumpling House, JuiceBrothers, the vegan-friendly Cinnamon Snail, and another location of Beyond Sushi following its full-service spot that opened last month.
The food hall and market is in a 13,000 square-foot space on the ground floor and basement-level and was originally scheduled to open in March. The first location for City Acres, which started as Key Foods Urban Market, opened in 2013 at 11 Broadway in South Williamsburg but does not have a food hall. In addition to groceries, City Acres will also offer meal kits.
70 Pine is also a potential location for the Nomad chef James Kent’s new restaurant that was at one point being considered by Ken Friedman and April Bloomfield of The Spotted Pig. Already, the 70 Pine St. building has a location of Black Fox Coffee. Stay tuned for more information on the other 70 Pine St. restaurant space as it becomes available.
