Trader Joe’s opens at City Point Tomorrow
Sharpen your elbows for the crowds at the new Trader Joe’s (445 Gold Street) opening at 9 a.m. tomorrow right next door to the newly opened DeKalb Market Hall. It’s the second spot in Brooklyn, where customers can stock up on Joe-Joe’s cookies, and a plethora of spreads and dips: no beer or wine. Next up: Trader Joe’s SoHo (233 Spring Street) and Trader Joe’s at 670 Columbus Avenue.

For one night only, Danny Bowien of Mission Chinese Food is cooking at one of London’s best restaurants, the eclectic Black Axe Mangal on Tuesday, June 27 from 6 to 11 p.m.
Daily Provisions, delivered
Danny Meyer’s Daily Provisions is home to a crave-worthy cruller that can sell out early, bespoke loaves, and dinner that debuted three months after opening — with rotisserie chicken the star. Now DP has paired up with Caviar, so its $45 whole chicken, half-loaf of bread, and three sides can be delivered to your door. Check it out here.
Another hotel restaurant debut
Restaurant at Rose Hill at HGU New York Hotel opens today, a project from Philippe Olivier Bondon of St. Barth and restaurateur Frederick Lesort of Matisse. Keith Geter is the executive chef serving a menu of straightforward American fare.
Berkli Park is closing, maybe
Bowery Boogie floats a rumor that seven years on the Lower East Side, Berkli Park (63 Delancey) is closing. “We are told that the landlord bought out the remainder of the cafe’s lease, and that a fire sale is planned for Saturday.”
Pizza from the Mother’s Ruin team in the East Village
Another pizza shop is opening in the East Village/Alphabet City, reports EV Grieve, this one from Loverboy, another spot from T.J. Lynch of the boozy slushie destination Mother’s Ruin on Spring Street.
Tasting note
For the first time, Roberta’s will have soft serve starting with chef Carlo Mirarchi’s vanilla or coconut-culantro — also available as a twist.
