Trader Joe’s opens at City Point Tomorrow

Sharpen your elbows for the crowds at the new Trader Joe’s (445 Gold Street) opening at 9 a.m. tomorrow right next door to the newly opened DeKalb Market Hall. It’s the second spot in Brooklyn, where customers can stock up on Joe-Joe’s cookies, and a plethora of spreads and dips: no beer or wine. Next up: Trader Joe’s SoHo (233 Spring Street) and Trader Joe’s at 670 Columbus Avenue.

Daily Provisions, delivered

Danny Meyer’s Daily Provisions is home to a crave-worthy cruller that can sell out early, bespoke loaves, and dinner that debuted three months after opening — with rotisserie chicken the star. Now DP has paired up with Caviar, so its $45 whole chicken, half-loaf of bread, and three sides can be delivered to your door. Check it out here.

Berkli Park is closing, maybe

Bowery Boogie floats a rumor that seven years on the Lower East Side, Berkli Park (63 Delancey) is closing. “We are told that the landlord bought out the remainder of the cafe’s lease, and that a fire sale is planned for Saturday.”

Pizza from the Mother’s Ruin team in the East Village

Another pizza shop is opening in the East Village/Alphabet City, reports EV Grieve, this one from Loverboy, another spot from T.J. Lynch of the boozy slushie destination Mother’s Ruin on Spring Street.

Tasting note

For the first time, Roberta’s will have soft serve starting with chef Carlo Mirarchi’s vanilla or coconut-culantro — also available as a twist.
