Sirens: Olmsted’s chef-owner Greg Baxtrom is opening a second restaurant in the neighborhood. Since its debut a year ago, Olmsted has become the neighborhood restaurant we all dream of, with its backyard garden, ambitious, affordable food, and sustainable values.
Now, Baxtrom has taken over the space across the street — 626 Vanderbilt Avenue — for a to-be-decided restaurant, according to his rep. But if the liquor license application (which got approved) is to be believed, then it will be a 75-seat French bistro with a full bar, open daily from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. The location is home to former bar Plan B, which also has a backyard, DNAInfo reports. It was a pretty dark sports bar, so the transformation will be one to watch.
The goal is to open it by the end of the year. Eater has reached out for more details; stay tuned.
