Restaurateur Michael Chernow’s stylish Nolita seafood restaurant Seamore’s has extended its signature summer whites to Chelsea.
A new 70-seat location of the restaurant opened at 161 8th Avenue this week, serving a similar menu of seafood, fish tacos, and salads. Christopher Cryer, executive chef at the downtown location, created the menu here, too, adding several new items like a hard shell poke taco with passion fruit and quinoa puffs, a fish burger with jalapeno mayo, and a Nicoise salad. Seamore’s Chelsea will also have a vegan coconut and pink lemonade soft serve ice cream made by OddFellows.
Later on, look for a rum bar in the lower level called Fishbone, which will open in a few weeks with rum cocktails, a selection of indie rums, rum flights, and a frozen rum drink.
The Nolita location of Seamore’s opened in June 2015 and has largely been well-received, particularly by the Instagram and fashion set. Chernow also co-owns the perpetually busy local meatball and pasta chain The Meatball Shop.
