Nolita all-day favorite Egg Shop is expanding to a second location, a Williamsburg outpost slated to open in June. Husband and wife team Sarah Schneider and Demetri Makoulis are sliding into the space at 138 North Eighth Street that was previously home to Cherry Izakaya before it closed last year. Egg Shop’s Brooklyn location is also opening near that other egg restaurant, Egg.

Schneider and Makoulis are bringing Egg Shop chef Nick Korbee along to the 60-seat space, which will be noticeably larger than the petite Nolita outpost. The menu will be largely the same and include egg-y options like a smoked salmon scramble on an everything biscuit; an egg, avocado and pork carnitas bowl; and a fried chicken sandwich with a sunny-up egg. There will be a daily happy hour from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. serving frozen margaritas and summertime nectar, frosé.

During a first look of the original Nolita location in 2014, Robert Sietsema wrote, “I enjoyed my two breakfasts — one in the afternoon — at Egg Shop, and the place is a giant hit, judging by the crowds thronging the place in its first weeks. The only drawback, as far as it goes, is an excess of creativity: sometimes you just want a plain egg-and-bacon sandwich on a Kaiser roll. And you'll still have to go to the deli for that.”

Egg Shop BK is set to crack open on June 7.
