Manhattan pizza nerds, get ready: Emily is opening in early June in what had been the Blue Ribbon Bakery Kitchen at 35 Downing Street.
The hallmark of the building is that 150 year-old wood-fired oven Eric and Bruce Bromberg spent two years restoring and used for the 20 years Blue Ribbon resided in the space. Now, look ahead to Matt Hyland at the helm — the baking partner of the Emily duo, who will be using an albeit much older version of a wood-fired oven used at Emily.
The menu may be slightly different, reports Chris Crowley, if only that the Manhattan spot might offer curly fries. As to whether they’ll be in addition to or a substitution for the waffle fries remains to be seen, since the menu is still a work in progress.
Stay tuned.
