Fatbird Iron Chef Cat Cora’s Meatpacking District restaurant in the former Diner space — is ready to pop, with open calls for the front of the house staff this week at the Kardashian-approved Sugar Factory.

The location for staff interviews makes sense, since Thomas Recine, partner of Sugar Factory, will be managing Cora’s restaurant at 44 Ninth Avenue. Recine says it’ll open around June 1, though the date is tentative based on construction.

No doubt it’ll end up a celebrity stop if this is any indication. As for the menu, look for classic and Nashville-style fried chicken, biscuits and honey butter, crawfish hushpuppies, catfish tacos, and shrimp and grits during breakfast, lunch, and dinner service. The restaurant will seat about 150 people and will include a sidewalk cafe.

This will be the first standalone restaurant for the TV star, who is the chef name at Ocean Restaurant inside Singapore’s Resorts World Sentosa, at Cat Cora’s Kitchen inside SFO’s Terminal 2, in Terminal E at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, and in Salt Lake City airport and elsewhere. She also has another restaurant in the works, Cat Cora’s Wine Bar, slated for Foxwood’s Casino.
