Get ready for curried cauliflower with couscous for lunch and milk-flavored soft serve for dessert as the Eleven Madison Park team’s sparkling new fast-casual restaurant Made Nice officially opens to the public for lunch today.
The restaurant at 8 West 28th Street previewed dishes last week by giving out limited quantities of free food to prepare for the opening, which starts Monday — lunch only for now, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dinner will likely debut in the next week.
Will Guidara and Daniel Humm — whose flagship tasting menu restaurant EMP was named “world’s best restaurant” this month — have tasked former EMP chef Danny DiStefano to run the kitchen at Made Nice. The manager Kirk Kelewae also worked at the restaurant’s pricer sister for years before joining Made Nice.
As such, dishes like curry cauliflower, salmon rosti frisee salad, and a slow-roasted pork dish with a grain and roasted carrot salad take inspiration from both EMP and The Nomad. They’re intended to be ready within five minutes of a person ordering, and they all cost between $11 and $15.
Check out a full rundown of the restaurant here as well as posted menus and photos of the space. Let us know what you think if you stop by.
