Right this second, the top dogs at Major Food Group are putting the final touches on The Grill — the trio’s first of three openings inside the legendary Seagram Building. Word on the street is that The Grill hosted friends and family on Sunday, which means that loved ones and investors get to experience the place before the plebes arrive.

Typically restaurants will ask guests to refrain from posting photos, especially of the food and the menu. Still, we found some strays via Instagram.

Obviously the Major Food dudes are not new to opulence, and a meal at Carbone proves that at least one of them is in love with theatre. So it’s no surprise that some menu items at The Grill come with a little tableside action:

Also can we talk for a second about these uniforms? Easily the nicest among the MFG crew (sorry Sadelle’s).

Alas, the only dishes we can be sure of are dover sole, a flambeed dessert, an elaborate crudite, and all the martinis. We also know that we are very, very close to the opening of The Grill. Everything has lead to this very moment. This is the homestretch.

Disclosure: Patty Diez is a former Major Food Group employee. She has recused herself from any future coverage of MFG restaurants.
