Some Chelsea Market Food Stalls Closed Due to Gas Leak

No word yet on when they will reopen

Chelsea Market Robert Sietsema

A gas leak has temporarily shuttered some of the food vendors east of the waterfall at OG food hall Chelsea Market. Market reps tell Eater that, “due to an unexpected but necessary repair to a gas main pipe supplying part of 75 Ninth Ave., certain ground floor retailers and tenants are operating on a limited basis or are temporarily closed.”

Here’s who is confirmed open and closed, with updates as they come in:

Open

Dizengoff
Corkbuzz
Num Pang
Cull & Pistol (only for raw bar and cold items)

Closed

Mokbar
Los Tacos No. 1
The Green Table
Creamline

Buddakan is unsure if it will be able to open as scheduled at 5:30 p.m., and will know more this afternoon.

Reps declined to give a reopening timeline more detailed than “as soon as possible,” though Mokbar’s Esther Choi estimates “we will all most likely be closed for a few days.”

Eater will update this post as more information comes in.
