The Snowiest Restaurants in the Village

Restaurants that are normally packed at lunchtime — like By Chloe and Lafayette Grand Cafe & Bakery — yawned, half-empty. Some Greenwich Village restaurants normally open at lunch — like Dojo — were closed completely, presumably due to snow, just like schools and some banks.

The exception to the half-empty or closed-completely rule for restaurants were coffee bars. Toby's Estate on 7th Ave South and the original Joe Coffee on Waverly were jammed, on the principal that patrons find solace in coffee houses in bad weather.
