Just a couple weeks after The Diner closed, Iron Chef Cat Cora has announced plans to take over the West 14 Street space in the Meatpacking District. According to DNAinfo, Cora will helm the kitchen at Fatbird — a Southern-style restaurant set to open in April or May of this year.
The news lines up with her return to TV along with chef Curtis Stone — of LA’s Gwen and Maude — in a remake of Aussie hit, My Kitchen Rules on Fox.
Thomas Recine, a manager of the upcoming restaurant who also overlooks Sugar Factory, tells DNAinfo that a tentative menu for the restaurant includes items like fried chicken and biscuits; crawfish hushpuppies; shrimp and grits; catfish tacos; and brisket. Recine adds that Fatbird will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Cat Cora is the chef name at Ocean Restaurant inside Singapore’s Resorts World Sentosa, at Cat Cora’s Kitchen inside SFO’s Terminal 2, in Terminal E at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, and in Salt Lake City airport, and elsewhere.
Stay tuned for more news on Fatbird as it becomes available.
