Seriously, The POTUS has the best taste in restaurants

President Obama only eats at good restaurants when he comes to New York City. This is a fact. Last night, the POTUS and First Lady Michelle Obama ended their day with a meal at Enrique Olvera’s trailblazing Flatiron District Mexican restaurant Cosme. The Obamas feasted on tuna tostadas, blue shrimp, burrata, mole, short ribs, and, of course, Olvera’s acclaimed duck carnitas, which Eater critic Ryan Sutton describes as having an "earthy, almost livery funk." The President is in town to attend a series of meetings and events at the United Nations. On Sunday evening, he attended a Hillary fundraiser at the home of NYC restaurateur extraordinaire Danny Meyer.

For those keeping track at home, while in office, The President dined at Upland, Estela, The Nomad, ABC Kitchen, Carbone, Maialino, Gotham Bar and Grill, Red Rooster, Daniel, and Blue Hill. That list includes seven past or present members of the Eater 38. Here’s a glimpse at the scene inside and outside Cosme last night:
