The sold out, Instagram-bait Museum of Ice Cream will be releasing more tickets this week. People still interested in checking out the space with edible balloons and a pool of sprinkles can sign up for the museum’s newsletter to watch out for when additional tickets are released, according to Time Out. Organizers will notify the subscribers this week when the $18 tickets can be purchased. The museum will be in the space at 100 Gansevoort St. until September 1st, though founders Maryellis Bunn and Manish Vora have said they may look at other opportunities to pop-up if this run is successful.
The pop-up has been a hit with the Instagram set. Seth Rogen and his wife actress Lauren Miller visited, and people still seem to be clamoring to go. Tickets are being sold on Craigslist for as much as $100 a piece, and one Instagram user claims she witnessed someone buying tickets for $200 each. But overall, reviews are somewhat mixed. Yelp users rated it an average of two and a half stars, though a few of the negative reviews are from people who waited hours in line and did not get in. Food Baby Instagrammer Mike Chau noted in his review that visitors should manage their expectations: "If you go in expecting a museum, you will be disappointed, as it is really more just a building with a couple of rooms with a lot of props for taking some killer Instagram photos."
