Crabhouse Restaurant is now open inside the former Waterfront Crabhouse space, the LIC Post reports. The Waterfront Crab House — a nearly 40-year-old Long Island City institution — closed last year following the death of owner Tony Mazzarella. A few months after the original’s shutter, local restaurant owners Joseph Lucil and Skinny Lee took over the lease at 203 Borden Avenue, keen on paying homage to Mazzarella and the original. According to the LIC Post, the menu will still include crabs and other seafood, plus a full raw bar and steakhouse menu. The team also plans to start serving weekend brunch soon. Crabhouse Restaurant is open Tuesday to Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and 1:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
