Yet another New York hotel is getting a restaurant. An outpost of Bob’s Steak & Chop House, which originally launched in Dallas in 1993, will open at the Omni Berkshire Place in the space that formerly housed Fireside. Due in mid September, it will offer breakfast and lunch as well as dinner. Among the morning menu items are a breakfast bowl with ground beef, potatoes, onions, crumbled bacon, eggs, and toast, while lunch will feature offerings like crab cake with Sriracha mayo, applewood smoked bacon, and tomato on a griddled brioche bun. The restaurant will also serve Bob's signature carrots and potatoes, along with 100 percent USDA prime beef, and there will be two 40 seat private dining rooms as well as a bar lounge seating 23. Dark wood, custom millwork, and a wine wall will help convert the room to a steakhouse vibe, and custom murals, vintage photography of New York City and vintage maps will be among the other design elements.
Eater Dallas describes the scene at the original: "Countless business deals have been made (and celebrated) over giant prime steaks at Bob's. It's hard to go wrong with any of the cuts -- though the bone-in ribeye is a favorite -- and they all come with Bob's signature glazed carrot and your choice of potato."
