Seabird, a Seafood Restaurant from the Mountain Bird Team, Opens With Mediterranean Vibes

The menu has a crispy fish burger and bouillabaisse dumpling soup

The team from critically acclaimed Harlem restaurant Mountain Bird is now serving seafood in the West Village at Seabird, a casual cafe with a raw bar and comfort food like burgers and sandwiches. Chef Kenichi "Ken" Tajima and Keiko Tajima teamed up with Bahr Rapaport and Alon Moskovitch, operators of LES Mediterranean restaurant Mezetto, for the project at 361 Sixth Ave. They're aiming for "French bistro meats Beach Club" at the restaurant, which features both indoor and outdoor seating with space for nearly 80 people all together. The menu has lobster roll Thermidor, a sweet-and-sour octopus fritter, and salmon poke. The restaurant will also be offering take-out — Seabird has a to-go window on Washington Place specifically for the purpose. Check out pictures of the space below, and if you stop by, let us know what you think.
