It’s Barbecue Week, and we have good news: Manhattan-dwellers can try Hometown Bar-B-que’s food on their own turf this week at a charity event this Thursday, June 16, at Danny Meyer’s pizza-focused Marta.
Eater and Vox Media are teaming up with the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club for the event. From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (VIPs get in an hour earlier at 6) at the restaurant on 29th Street, attendees can taste not just pizza from chef Nick Anderer but also food from NYC favorites like Babu Ji, Hometown (Barbecue Week spoiler: the pitmasters are serving pulled pork sliders with fried pickles) and Edi and the Wolf. There will even be a collaboration dish from Melissa Weller of Sadelle’s and Daniel Eddy of Rebelle on offer.
Meet the chefs and try their food — beverages are also included in the tickets — on Thursday. Each chef has been paired with a designer who will be decorating the meal stations at the event. Tickets start at $100 and all proceeds go to the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club. Purchase them on the non-profit’s website or by calling (718) 893-8600 ext 245.
[Update: The giveaway in this post has now been closed. See full rules here.]
