Papaya King — New York's original frankfurter & tropical juice stand — now has a satellite on the corner of Nevins Street and Flatbush Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn. The simple menu is identical to the one served on 86th Street, and the decor channels the look of that classic Upper East Side restaurant as well. A few years back, Papaya King team opened another location on St. Mark's Place, so now there are three stores, total, in NYC, plus a food truck. Last fall, owner Wayne Rosenbaum told Eater: "As a native Brooklynite I am proud to bring an iconic NYC brand to the borough." After sampling a Papaya King dog during the Hot Dog Super Tuesday crawl earlier this year, Robert Sietsema remarked: "This hot dog triumphed over rival Gray's by being saltier, deeper red, more expertly cooked, and having a pop when you bit into it like a shotgun blast." If you happen to stop by the new location, let us know what you think.
