Chang Plots Strategic Chicken Tender Maneuver as Project Ando Nears Launch Date

New, 7 comments

New York is in the twilight of its pre-Ando phase, but everything is about to change

Take everything you knew about lunch delivery and throw it out the window — regardless of what is down below — because David Chang and his Momofuku brigade are about to launch Andoa restaurant that has no dining room. Like Maple, the start-up that counts Chang as an investor, this is a delivery-only enterprise, and it’s launching very soon. All the food will be prepared from a central kitchen at a secret location in Midtown. Diners will order via an app, and the food will be delivered by the UberRush squad. It looks like the Ando team was making some test runs today.

One of the dishes looks nearly identical to Popeye’s chicken tenders.

Inspired by Louisiana's finest export @ando

Note that these strips are indeed very different in term of texture than the Fuku Fingers. Way more flake, and they’re quite slender. Chang also teased a cheesesteak:

NYC cheesesteak by @ando coming soon

Plus this thing, called "the Ernesto":

If you want this pork amazement thing we call the "Ernesto": please sign up @ando to get in line

And, of course, here are some Milk Bar cookies:

Choose wisely...or get all three? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you hear anything else about this most unusual Momofuku restaurant, let us know.
