Take everything you knew about lunch delivery and throw it out the window — regardless of what is down below — because David Chang and his Momofuku brigade are about to launch Ando, a restaurant that has no dining room. Like Maple, the start-up that counts Chang as an investor, this is a delivery-only enterprise, and it’s launching very soon. All the food will be prepared from a central kitchen at a secret location in Midtown. Diners will order via an app, and the food will be delivered by the UberRush squad. It looks like the Ando team was making some test runs today.
One of the dishes looks nearly identical to Popeye’s chicken tenders.
Note that these strips are indeed very different in term of texture than the Fuku Fingers. Way more flake, and they’re quite slender. Chang also teased a cheesesteak:
