Brooklyn-based restaurateurs Brian Smith and Jackie Cuscuna are expanding their popular ice cream shop Ample Hills to the Meatpacking District. The new mini-outpost of the shop will sit right next to Bubby's High Line at 73 Gansevoort Street. Grub Street reports that the 400 square-foot location will serve ice cream, pints to go, shakes, snacks, and drinks, and the shop will have one location-specific ice cream flavor. Smith and Cuscuna have two locations in Brooklyn, as well as one in Gotham West Market, and seasonal stands in Brooklyn Bridge Park and the Riis Park Beach Bazaar. Last year, the Ample Hills team raised $4 million for expansion. In addition to this Manhattan location, the proprietors are also planning an ambitious interactive production facility in Brooklyn. The Meatpacking location is slated to open this May.
