Bluestone Lane

1) East Village: Yesterday, Aussie coffeehouse and cafe Bluestone Lane opened its eighth New York location. The opening coincided with a national day of remembrance in Australia, and the team donated a portion of the sales of flat whites to the Bowery Mission. The menu at Bluestone Astor Place will be similar to other locations, offering takeaway options like granola cups, chia pudding,  an avocado smash, and a spicy chicken sandwich. 2) Upper West Side: A ramen and gyoza bar is now open on 72nd street between Columbus and Broadway. Zurutto comes from the team behind Tenzan, a sushi bar a few blocks north.The full menu is not yet available, but some options include pork buns, miso ramen, and Japanese fried chicken. 3) East Village: The team from the popular fast-casual Desi Galli on Lexington Avenue opened a location in the old Mercadito Cantina space. Menu options include biryani, kathi rolls, and plenty of curries. The kitchen is open until 3 a.m. Thursday to Saturday. Status: Certified Open; 172 Avenue B (11th Street), 212-475-3374

4) Soho: The people behind Belgian ice cream maker Magnum Ice Cream opened a seasonal storefront in Soho, the company's first in the U.S.. The pop-up shop features a DIY ice cream bar where guests can dip their choice of ice cream in chocolate, and then add toppings like chopped nuts, rose petals, mint chips, more chocolate, and sea salt. 5) Chelsea: La Colombe opened its first Chelsea location on Friday inside Terminal Warehouse on 27 Street. The new location is serving the usual coffee options, plus an assortment of sweet and savory pastries from City Bakery. Status: Certified Open; 601 West 27 Street, 646-885-0677

6) West Village: The very popular Sweetgreen opened a Bleecker Street location over the weekend.  It's the salad maker's eighth outpost in NYC. The menu is the same as all other locations, and online ordering is available. Status: Certified Open; 226 Bleecker Street

7) Battery Park City: One year since opening, Le District has unveiled its intimate chef's choice counter: L'Appart. The space has 28 seats and the chef is Nicolas Abello, a Daniel vet who also worked in London and France. L’Appart’s debut menu starts at $105 per person. 8) Upper West Side: Kirsch Bakery and Cafe has opened its doors, taking over the former Popover Cafe space on Amsterdam Avenue. The bakery serves German and French pastries from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day. There is also sweet and savory French toast options, pies, and cake.
