Albert Trummer's Hospital-Themed Bar Is Now Open in the East Village

Acclaimed barman Albert Trummer opened Sanatorium over the weekend. It's a cocktail bar with a hospital theme. Trummer — the bartender arrested for setting fire to cocktails — was previously tending bar at pharmacy-themed Apotheke before splitting with his partners. For his latest New York project, Trummer brought along the team from his Miami bar The Drawing Room. Flo Fab reports that the walls at Sanatorium (meaning an establishment for the medical treatment of people who are convalescing or have a chronic illness) are green, the light-fixtures are surgical, and cocktails involve herbal elixirs. Shots are also served in syringes.
